Nvidia’s roadmap slipped by a year.

There are some schools of thought that Moore’s Law slowing down would be a good thing, as it would give chipmakers time to focus on making more massively parallel hardware. It also may spur a larger interest in materials other than silicone that may have properties more suited to making a quantum computer.

In the long term, there are some materials though that could extend it, but it’s still far from entering the market.

Just saw an article yesterday which said chip makers are studying 5 nm technology, which if they can do it will allegedly allow tracking Moore’s law for another decade.
